New leaked photo confirmed that TCL is on it way to launch a less premium line up of the BlackBerry Key2. The rumor which was exclusive to a confirmed source revealed most of the specifications for this new model of the Key2. According to the source, the phone will be named Key2 LE and will feature similar keyboard style as the BlackBerry KeyOne instead of the Key2 launched this year. The spacebar of the upcoming model will be similar to previous model which is hidden in the fingerprint sensor. Further, the source said that the Key2 LE will not has a functional trackpad as the flagship Key2.
Compared to the Key2, the “LE” version will have lower grade specifications which may make it less expensive and affordable to fans who can’t really do without a BlackBerry smartphone and others interested in using a BlackBerry phone. The key specs for the Key2 LE are Android 8.1 Oreo, Battery of 3000 mAh, 150.25 x 71.8 x 8.35 mm in dimensions with 156 gram as weight. The cameras at the back are 13MP and 5MP with a flashlight, the front camera features was not made available by the source.
For the display, a screen size of 4.5-inch was stated along with a resolution of 1080 by 1620 and a LCD display panel. The engine for the Key2 LE is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 with 4GB RAM and a variant of 32GB and 64GB ROM. The CPU is an octa core processor and clock speed of 1.8 GHz. Before I pass by, from the photo, you will notice the rear camera is mounted horizontally with the flashlight moved to the right of it. The front camera has no flashlight, however, the speaker is close to it. With the specifications which is a little downgrade compared to the Key2, the BlackBerry Key2 LE retail price should be lower compare to the Key2 flagship. The launch date was not made available by the source, probably, future rumours may unveil it.
